Matthias Romir

There is Always Rain After Sunshine

Show · Street Show · 45 minutes

Do you remember how to dance the Macarena? Matthias Romir’s shows bring together things that shouldn’t be brought together. The darkly comical Schwarzclown, of all people, has a soft spot for the big summer hits of music history. With the firm intention of leaving the world, if not better, then at least in a better mood, he presents his personal favourite hits in a completely new guise: daring artistry meets heart-wrenching dance interludes, impossible tricks and, above all, lots of terribly cheerful music. Singing along is allowed! But how long can this go well? How much failure can Isla Bonita take? One thing must be clear to us: There is always rain after sunshine.
This show aims to be an encouragement, a plea to get up and keep going. And to stick together: a beach party for losers. In the rain.

PRESS SAYS

“Another highlight was the performance by the German Schwarzclown Matthias Romir. With a mix of artistics, quirky humour and well-known summer hits, he put on a show that was as offbeat as it was endearing, in which he deliberately ensured that not every trick went off without a hitch.” (Syker Kurier)

“humorous and touching” (Schwäbische Zeitung)

“the exceptional artist ‘Matthias Romir’ pulled out all the stops. […] Romir masterfully transformed the initial tension into pure enthusiasm. By the end, there was no holding back: people of all ages joined in, singing, laughing and celebrating the musical poet.” (Die Bildschirmzeitung)
